Experiences of June 4th
On June 4th our volunteer was changed for a view of the talent show for the Liceo Atenas.
The local students had many singing and dancing numbers, the highlight being a ten member choreographed high-intensity dance routine with strong elements of breakdancing. It lasted over ten minutes, and considering it was performed in an un-airconditioned gym it was more than impressive.
The afternoon was spent in study on the veranda.
Finally we went to San José for a mall visit--malls are universal. Perhaps the most cultural part of the night was being stuck in a traffic jam within sight of an accident. We didn't take pictures out of respect, but it was very interesting to see how a different culture dealt with balancing safety of the injured/harmed and the needs of those waiting.
